2.2 Electrical Characteristics

- Supply: Max. +5V ±5% 100mA, via connector RS-232. No external source is needed, it
uses the source of the connected equipment;
- Configuration: Half-Duplex, it needs the RTS (Request To Send) signal at RS-232;
- Maximum transmission speed: 57.600bps;
- Galvanic isolation RS-232/RS-485: 1.500V/1min;

3. CONNECTIONS AND INDICATIONS

- XC29 - Connector for RS-485
- XC1- Connector for RS-232
- S28 Switch for terminating resistor connection when at end line. -
Indication LEDs:
- Power LED indicates when MIW-02 is being supplied by WEG equipment to which is
connected;
- Serial LED indicates when WEG equipment to which MIW-02 is connected is transmitting
data serially to the master.
The physical connections between WEG equipment are realized in two standard ways:
- RS-232 point to point up to 10m;
- RS-485 multi-point, with galvanic isolation up to 1000m.
