5 - Adjustments to start operating

5.1 - PTO speed

During operation, the PTO speed must be
constant at 540 rpm.
Check the forage harvester operational
manual for more information.

5.2 - Harvest ground speed

Tractor correct moving speed is one of the factors that directly influences the machine
production and the triturated fodder quality.
The speed will vary during a work day, because it depends of the size of the culture, the
tractor's power and the land conditions, so, the operator must decide the best speed of the
harvester.
The machine must have the best productivity, in order to diminish the surplus of the material,
without compromising its functioning.
Engine speed must be such that the PTO speed is correct: 540 rpm.
Check if your tractor has a decal, showing a table or a graphic scale that informs the speed for
any rotation in each gear. If you don't find it, check your tractor's manual.
