7.5 - Machine preservation
Preservation is as important as preventive maintenance. Such care basically consists of
protect the machine against bad weather and corrosive effect of some products.
After you have ended the harvesting work, take the cares below, aiming to preserve
workability and prevent future unnecessary maintenance:
1- Remove all product waste that remained inside the machine;
2- Fully wash the harvester in rigorous way. After that, allow it dry in the sun;
3- Remake the painting in the points where there is needed;
4- Lubricate all the grease points mentioned before.
Very important: always keep the machine in a dry place, protected from sun and
rain. Without this care, there is no preservation.
7.6 - Care between harvests
When the machine is stopped for a long period, some cares are required aiming to get a
longer useful life:
1- Keep the harvester in a protected place;
2- Bear in mind that the period between harvests is the best time to make preventive
maintenance and, with that, to be easy for the next harvest.
When you come back to work, observe the following items:
1- Re-tighten the nuts and bolts general;
2- Lubricate the points indicated in this manual;
3- Check the adjustments for operation described in this manual;
4- If possible, make a full revision in a JF dealer or authorized workshop.
