INSTALLATION

3.1

INSTALLATION SITE

• The appliance must only be installed in an adequately
ventilated premises.
• Connect the appliance according to the regulations in force
(Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations, 1984; Health and
Safety at Work Act, 1974, Codes of Practice BS 6173, 1982, The
Building regulations 1985; The Buildings Standards Regulations,
1981).
3. 2
POSITIONING
• To facilitate maintenance interventions the left hand surface of
the appliance must remain at least 50 cm from all other surfaces
while the right hand surface must neither rest against, or must to
be 10 cm far from a flammable surface.
• The appliance cannot be inserted into a built in range
3.3
WARNINGS
• Contact the gas board before installing the appliance.
• Consult the technical data and drawings at the front of this
manual for all installation information regarding overall dimen-
sions, wiring and gas connections etc.
• Before connecting the appliance to the gas mains make sure
you have removed the protective cover from the gas connector
• Position the appliance and if necessary regulate the height of
the work top by rotating the adjustable feet.
• Remove the protective film from the external surfaces, slowly
without tearing it, as glue could remain on the outer casing of the
appliance. Should this happen remove the glue using a suitable
solvent.
• A fast action gas cutoff cock must be installed ahead of the
appliance and in an easily accessible place.
• After completing the gas installation use a soap based solution
to check for leaks around the gas fittings.
• Before connecting make sure that the appliance is compatible
with the type of gas available otherwise follow the instructions in
the paragraph "adapting to different gas types".

• The installation of the appliance and any form of maintenance
work regarding gas and electricity must only be carried out by the
relevant board or by an authorised installer.
3.4
BURNT GAS EXTRACTION FOR "B11" TYPE
APPLIANCES.
Steam convection ovens using air blown burners are "B11" type
appliances, i.e. the burnt gases must be collected by a suitable
system respecting the local standards and regulations in force.
3.4.1 INSTALLATION UNDER AN EXTRACTION HOOD
( see fig. 4, det. 2)
When the appliance is installed under an extraction hood it must
have the following characteristics:
• The volume extracted by the hood must be greater than the
volume of the burnt gas generated by the appliance (see the
standards in force).
• The appliance is to be installed together with the gas exhaust
duct "A" and the adaptor "E" if required (fig.4 det.2), these
accessories must be requested from the manufacturer.
The exhaust outlet "A" can be raised using an exhaust pipe up to
a distance of between 5/4D and 2D of the extraction hood filter;
the adaptor "E" may be used if required (see detail 2).
Make sure that the filter is made of suitable material as the burnt
gases leaving the duct outlet can reach temperatures of up to
350°C
The installation of the gas exhaust manifold is as follows:
• Position the manifold "A" over the 2 gas exhaust outlets "B" and
"C" (fig.4) on the upper side of the appliance and fasten it along
the holes in the profile "D" using the supplied self-tapping screws.
The ø3,5 holes should already have been drilled on the appliance
cover at the points indicated by the countersunk marks and a
layer of silicone should have been smeared on the surfaces
which come into contact.
3.4.2 INSTALLATION WITH THE GAS EXHAUST LEADING
DIRECTLY TO THE OUTSIDE OR IN A FLUE
(Accessory, see fig. 4, det.3)
The installation occurs as follows:
• After having positioned manifold "A" as described in the
previous paragraph, set the draught diverter (*), which is to be
requested from the manufacturer, either to the outside or to the
flue by means of an appropriate pipe having a diameter of 120
mm and made of materials resistant to a 300°C temperature.
Note: This operation must guarantee that the flue gas
exhaust cannot be blocked by obstructions and/or an exces-
sively long exhaust pipe (maximum length: 3 m). Use adapter
"E" to connect the exhaust pipes which have a different
diameter.
4.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTION

• The electrical connection must respect the local stand-
ards and regulations in force.
• Before carrying out the electrical connection, make sure that
the voltage and frequency rated on the appliance data plate
conform to those of the mains supply.
• Carry out the electrical connection by following the wiring
diagram supplied with the appliance and make sure that the
phase wires "L" and the neutral wire "N" respect the positions
indicated by the data plate located near the main terminal board.
• The appliance must be connected directly to the mains. The
connection must be carried out using a type H05 RN-F cable. A
suitably dimensioned multipolar circuit breaker which leaves a
gap of at least 3 mm between its contacts must be placed between
the appliance and the mains (e.g. a magnetothermal switch).
This circuit breaker must be installed in the main ring circuit of the
premises and must be located near the appliance.
The power cable must be protected by a pipe made of metal or rigid
plastic. If an already existing channel is used the protective piping
must not run directly into the appliance. Make sure that the pipe has
no rough or sharp edges.
• The appliance must be earthed. To this end, on the terminal
board there is a binding post marked with the symbol G to which
the earth wire must be fastened.
The appliance must also be included in a correctly dimensioned
equipotential system.
The connection should be carried out using the screw marked with
the symbol E, which is located externally near the power cable inlet.
The equipotential wire must have a minimum cross section of 10
