PRESENTATION
A sliding rail fall arrest system allows its user to safely access roofs and platforms.
The KS8000 system is designed to be installed on the rungs of a permanently fixed ladder.
The KS9000 is for when there is no ladder available. The rungs affixed to the rail provide the user with secure access.
Both systems are compliant with standard EN353-1:2014.
In the event of a fall, both systems (KS8000 or KS9000) have a device that immediately stops the fall on the rail. When the Vertical Trolley is not in use,
it can be left on the rail without sliding down. However, when the system is not used for a long period, leaving the trolley in place is not recommended.
Instead, it should be stored in accordance with the instructions in the trolley's user manual.
The system can be used within the temperature range of: -30°C to +50°C.
A sliding rail fall arrest system must be composed of at least: a top edge, one (or several) intermediate securing point(s), intermediate rails, a bottom
edge, a sliding fall arrester, a connector, and a warning sign. The maximum angle of inclination of the KS8000 and KS9000 systems must not exceed 15°.
These systems must be installed by skilled professionals using only the components recommended by KRATOS SAFETY. Before installation, an assessment
of the structure's strength and performance ratings is crucial. The users' expectations must also be taken into account.
Lastly, during installation safety rules must be observed!
1 - INSTALLATION OF A COMPLETE SYSTEM :
1.1 MOUNTING NUT (FA 20 708 00) -
This nut is used to affix the rail to mounting bracket FA 20 706 00.
