General Safety
WARNING: Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow the warnings and
instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
WARNING: This device is not intended for use by persons (including children) with
reduced, physical or mental capabilities or lack of experience or knowledge unless they have
been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the device by a person responsible
for their safety. Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
Work area safety
a) Do not operate electrical devices in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of
flammable liquids, gases or dust. Electrical devices create sparks which may ignite the dust
or fumes.
Electrical safety
a) Electrical plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any
adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) devices. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will
reduce risk of electric shock.
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and
refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose non-waterproof electrical devices to rain or wet conditions. Do not
submerge non-pressure-rated devices in water. Water entering an electrical device will
increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the power lead. Never use the lead for carrying, pulling or unplugging the
device. Keep lead away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled
power leads increase the risk of electric shock.
e) If operating an electrical device in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current
device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.
Personal safety
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating an electrical
device. Do not use potentially dangerous electrical devices while you are tired or under the
influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating potentially
dangerous devices may result in serious personal injury.
b) Use personal protective equipment including eye protection where appropriate. Protective
equipment used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c) Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting
to a power source. Carrying electrical devices with your finger on the switch or energising devices
that have the switch on invites accidents.
d) Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of
the device in unexpected situations.
Use and Care
a) Do not force the device. Use the correct device for your application. The correct device will do
the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b) Do not use the electrical device if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any device that
cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c) Disconnect the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories,
or storing electrical devices. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the
device accidentally.
d) Store idle devices out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with
the device or these instructions to operate it. Electrical devices may be dangerous in the hands
of untrained users.
e) Maintain electrical devices. Check for defects of parts and any other condition that may
affect the device's operation. If damaged, have the device repaired before use. Many
accidents are caused by poorly maintained electrical devices.
f) Use the device and its accessories in accordance with these instructions, taking into
account the conditions and the task to be performed. Use of the device for operations different
from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
Service
a) Have your electrical devices serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical
replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the device is maintained.
Battery Charger Safety
Use the battery charger correctly
• Refer to the section of this manual relating to use of the battery charger before attempting to
charge the battery
• Do not attempt to use the charger with any batteries other than those supplied. Keep your battery
charger clean; foreign objects or dirt may cause a short or block air vents. Failure to follow these
instructions may cause overheating or fire
• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or
similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard
WARNING: Do not recharge non-rechargeable batteries
5W Lithium Rechargeable 3-Function Torch
Use batteries correctly
Only charge batteries using the charger provided. Only use batteries provided with this power tool,
or others recommended by the supplier. Keep batteries clean; foreign objects or dirt may cause
a short. Allow batteries to cool for 15 minutes after charging or heavy use. Failure to follow these
instructions may cause overheating or fire.
When not in use batteries should be stored at room temperature (approx 20˚C). Ensure that batteries
cannot accidentally short in storage.

Before Use
Assembly & initial charging
WARNING: The lithium battery in this product will have drained during storage. The following steps
must be taken to ensure it is charged correctly. This will maximise the performance and working
life of the battery:
1. Press the Bulb/LED Ring ON/OFF Switch (6) until both the LED ring and bulb (3) are OFF. The
switch toggles between OFF - bulb - OFF - LED ring and then repeats
2. The warning light can also be used independently
3. Plug the Mains Charger (8) into the mains power supply, and plug the small end into the
Charging Socket (2)
Note: If your Torch does not seem to be charging, repeat the above steps, ensuring the Bulb/LED
Ring ON/OFF Switch is in the OFF position.
Recharging
Note: With this type of battery, it is best to 'top up' the charge after each use, when possible.
If the Torch is not used frequently, recharge at least every 3 months to maintain battery condition.
• When using the Mains Charger (8), charge an empty battery for a minimum of 6 hours
Operation
1. Switch the Bulb (3) or LED Light Ring (4) ON or OFF using the Bulb/LED Ring ON/OFF Switch (6)
2. Turn the Red LED Warning Light (10) ON using the Warning Light Switch (5)
3. The Stand and Mounting Bracket (7) can be pulled down for stability when placing the
torch down
