Care of batteries
Customers should be mindful of the need to maintain
battery capacity. As a minimum, lead acid batteries should
be fully charged every 3 months. Customers with NiMH
battery option are advised to operate from battery without
line power periodically to exercise the battery. Batteries
have a finite lifetime and are only replaceable at Megger

Always keep the instrument clean and free from dust
and fibrous material
Cleanliness of the test chamber is very important
Cleaning the test vessel is mandatory and a thorough
clean must be done daily/weekly depending on
frequency of testing
Introducing fibres or other particles into the test
vessel will result in erroneous breakdown values. A
small volume of a test sample can be used to rinse out
remnants of old oil
If there is any damage to the test vessel, chamber or
lid, the instrument should be repaired by a Megger
authorised repair facility
