4. Operation
4.1 Preparing for use
Caution!
Inadequate supply of oxygen possible. Never use pressure reducers with a flow
outlet to operate medical devices. The supply pressure of these pressure reducers is
not adequate for this and could result in malfunctions or failures of the medical de-
vices and thus in a risk to the patient.
4.2 Setting flow
Fixed pressure reducer (Fix)
The flow rate is set and cannot be altered.
Variable pressure reducer (Fine)

Operation
1. Slowly open the valve of the oxygen cylinder. Do not
turn the valve more than one turn to the left.
The contents gage 1 now indicates the cylinder
pressure.
2. If necessary, calculate the amount of oxygen left in the
cylinder (see "4.5 Calculating contents" on page 18),
to ensure that the connected devices can operate long
enough.
Set the desired flow (outlet volume) on adjuster knob 7.
