Installation of the Homelight appliance

2. Ensure that the flash lamp is firmly inserted in the end of the epilator.
3. Plug the adapter lead into its slot in the appliance handle.
4. Plug the other end of the adapter into the mains. The 'Standby' indicator light will come on. Your Homelight epilator is
ready to use.
Use the safety glasses included when using the Homelight epilator.
Your first epilation session with your Homelight appliance
You skin should be shaved, clean, dry and free of residue from powders or deodorants.
5. Press the On/Standby switch. The power indicator light will come on and you will hear the noise of a fan (similar to the
noise made by a hair dryer).
6. About 4 seconds after having pressed the switch, the 'Ready' indicator light will come on. The default level for the
appliance is set at the lowest setting. It is therefore ready to release its first pulse.
7. Turn the light intensity down to the lowest setting for the first use. If you would like to increase or reduce the power,
press on the power selector using '+' and '-' until the indicator light is at the desired power level. The power level indicator
light that is lit corresponds to the power level administered (see details on the 'Power intensity level').
8. Press the application surface firmly against your skin so that it is in full contact. When the application surface is in full
contact with your skin, the 'Ready' indicator light will begin to flash.
9. Press the release. The mechanism will first check skin colour. If the skin colour is light enough for safe application, the
appliance will release a pulse onto the skin and the 'Ready' indicator light will switch off. You will see a flash of light and
at the same time you will hear a slight 'beep' with each pulse, which is normal. You may also feel a slight heat and tingling
sensation. Your Homelight appliance recharges immediately after each pulse. After 4 seconds, the 'Ready' indicator light
will again light up. If you don't see pulsed light and the skin colour indicator light starts to flash, this means the your skin
is too dark for safe application. Change the area of treatment or check with the Homelight epilator Customer Service
(see details: 'Skin colour sensor').
10. Remove application surface from the treated area of skin.
11. Move the application surface to another area to be treated. Pressure tracks from the application surface made on your
skin will help you to align the appliance correctly to administer another pulse, preventing superimposing the pulses or
spacing too much. (See 'Covering the treatment area').
12. Repeat the application from step 5.
For epilation of the face, please refer to the instructions on page 150.
