Cleaning and Maintenance
5.1

Cleaning

WARNING!
Do not use any organic cleaning material for the cleaning of the individual components, such as nitro
thinners, alcohol, white spirit, petrol etc.
The device components should be cleaned after each operation and, if badly contaminated, with a
damp cloth (tepid water) and a little detergent. The device does not need to be removed from the pneu-
matics for cleaning.
5.2

Maintenance

The device is largely maintenance-free. It is recommended that the device is subject to regular visual
inspections to check whether there are any faults or damage.
If there are any faults, the device must be replaced. The device must not be repaired by the user.
Repairs must only be carried out by the manufacturer or by a repair service authorized by the manu-
facturer.
Exchanging the Batteries
Due to storage and delivery times, it might be necessary to exchange batteries before putting the
device into first service.
The charging status of the batteries is monitored by the device. Low battery conditions can be
recognised by the user:
In Standby: The red battery life indication LED blinks for 100 ms every 30 seconds.
During start-up: The device does not start properly. All red LEDs incl. battery life indicator lighten
up and an acoustic signal sounds.
If the battery power level cannot be measured anymore, the device will not start.
In all cases, the batteries must be exchanged.
Use approved batteries only. The usage of non-approved or old batteries is notified by the device and
announced during the automatic start-up after inserting the batteries. Only remove batteries if they
have to be exchanged and battery state has been discovered to low for operation by the device.
Update date and time settings after battery exchange using MSA A2 Software.

It is recommended that the batteries be changed at least once a year or if indicated to do so by the
LED or on the display.
The device is designed to provide an operational time of 500 hours or 1 year stand by, the operational
time might vary depending to incident conditions and usage.
WARNING!
Remove batteries if device is stored for more than one year.
Never change batteries in hazardous areas. There is a danger of explosion since the batteries can
cause sparks when being changed! Danger of injury!
Check the polarity of the batteries when replacing. Incorrect polarity connection can lead to damage to
the device or impairment of the operability of the device.
