Cordless Chain saw safety warnings
1 .
Keep all parts of the body away from the saw
chain when the chain saw is operating. Before
you start the chain saw, make sure the saw
chain is not contacting anything. A moment o f
inattention w h ile operating c h ain sa w s ma y c ause
entanglement o f y our c lot h ing or bo d y w it h t h e
sa w c h ain.

Always hold the chain saw with your right
hand on the rear handle and your left hand on
the front handle. H ol d ing t h e c h ain sa w w it h a
reversed hand configuration increases the risk of
personal injury and should never be done.
3.
Hold the power tool by insulated gripping
surfaces only, because the saw chain may con-
tact hidden wiring. S a w c h ains c onta c ting a " li v e "

Do not operate a chain saw in a tree. O peration

Always keep proper footing and operate the
chain saw only when standing on xed, secure

W hen cutting a limb that is under tension be
alert for spring back. W h en t h e tension in t h e
wood fibres is released the spring loaded limb may

Carry the chain saw by the front handle with
the chain saw switched off and away from your
body. W hen transporting or storing the chain

poses not intended. For example: do not use
chain saw for cutting plastic, masonry or non-

jobs free from accident or injury.

rec t operating proc ed ures or c ond itions and c an be
av oid ed by taking proper prec autions as giv en below :
Maintain a rm grip, with thumbs and
ngers encircling the chain saw handles,
with both hands on the saw and position
your body and arm to allow you to resist
kickback forces. Ki c kba c k f or c es c an be c on-

are taken. D o not let go o f t h e c h ain sa w .

Do not overreach and do not cut above

Only use replacement bars and chains
speci ed by the manufacturer. I n c orre c t

Follow the manufacturer ' s sharpening
and maintenance instructions for the saw

1 4 . Before starting work, check that the chain
saw is in proper working order and that its
condition complies with the safety regulations.
Check in particular that:
T h e c h ain brake is w orking properl y ;
T h e run- d o w n brake is w orking properl y ;
The bar and the sprocket cover are fitted
c orre c tl y ;
T h e c h ain h as been s h arpene d an d ten-
sione d in a c c or d an c e w it h t h e regulations.
1 5 . Do not start the chain saw with the chain cover
being installed on it. S tarting t h e c h ain sa w w it h
t h e c h ain c o v er being installe d on it ma y c ause
t h e c h ain c o v er to t h ro w n out f or w ar d resulting in
personal injury and damage to objects around the
operator.
1 6 . Avoid dangerous environment. Don ' t use the
tool in damp or wet locations or expose it to
rain. W ater entering the tool will increase the
risk of electric shock.
1 7. Do not dispose of the battery(ies) in a re. The
cell may explode. Check with local codes for
possible special disposal instructions.
1 8 . Do not open or mutilate the battery(ies).
Released electrolyte is corrosive and may
cause damage to the eyes or skin. It may be
toxic if swallowed.
1 9 . Do not charge battery in rain, or in wet
locations.
