ARRY OUT A
Regular range checks are very important in order to ensure that
your radio control system operates reliably, and to help you
detect problems and potential problems in good time. Carry out a
range check in particular:
Before you use any new or modified components, or when
the arrangement of the components has been changed.
Before you use any radio control component which was for-
merly used in a model which suffered a crash.
When you had a problem last time you operated the model.
Important!
Always ask a friend to hold the model and watch its reactions
when carrying out a range check.
The range check should always be carried out with the stan-
dard telescopic aerial fitted, but completely collapsed. Don't
use a stub aerial for range checking.
Ensure that no other transmitter is switched on while you are
carrying out the range check, even on other channels.
With the telescopic aerial collapsed to a single section, the range
of the RX-6-SYNTH light receiver should be around 80 m. When
you reach the range limit, the servos will begin to jitter; they will
eventually carry out uncontrolled movements, and will cease to
respond to control commands. If your transmitter features an
automatic servo test function, we recommend that you use it for
one function, e.g. rudder. This provides a regular servo move-
ment, and it is easier to detect when the receiver is no longer
responding properly to control commands.
Important:
Carry out the initial range check with the motor stopped, then
repeat the check with the motor running (varying the throttle
settings): effective range should not be significantly reduced. If
the range is much lower, then you must seek out the cause of the
problem (motor interference, receiving system arrangement,
vibration, etc.) and eliminate it.

Electrical equipment marked with the cancelled waste
bin symbol must not be discarded in the domestic rub-
bish. Instead it should be taken to a suitable specialised
disposal point.
In the countries of the EU (European Union) electrical
equipment must not be discarded through the household
waste system (WEEE - Waste of Electrical and Electronic
Equipment, directive 2002/96/EG). The best method of disposal
is to take your old equipment to your local collection point (e.g.
recycling centre), where the staff will dispose of it in the appropri-
ate manner, and at no cost to you.
You can make an important contribution to the protection of the
environment by discarding unwanted equipment in the proper
manner.
