Directions for Use.
INDICATIONS
The PXC2 Mountable Extension Cable is intended for use in systems incorporating Masimo® SET® Pulse Oximeter technology
which are intended for continuous noninvasive monitoring of functional oxygen saturation of arterial hemoglobin (SpO
and pulse rate (measured by a SpO
hospital or a mobile environment.
DESCRIPTION
The PXC2 extension cable is designed for installation into the wall or ceiling, allowing connection to Masimo SET LNC series,
M-LNC series or LNOP® PC series patient cables, RD SET™ MD14 series or Masimo direct connect reusable sensors. The PXC2
extension cable is intended for use with Masimo sensors and oximeters licensed to use Masimo SET® technology.
WARNING: Masimo sensors and cables are designed for use with devices containing SET® oximetry or licensed to use
Masimo sensors.
WARNINGS, CAUTIONS AND NOTES
• Ensure the cable is physically intact, with no broken or frayed wires or damaged parts. Visually inspect the cable and
discard if cracks or discoloration are found.
• The PXC2 extension cable is designed to be connected directly to a compatible cable, sensor or 14 pin to 20 pin adapter
cable and the oximeter module.
• Never connect the PXC2 extension cable to another PXC2 extension cable.
• To avoid damage to the patient or adapter cable, always hold it by the connector rather than the cable when connecting
or disconnecting.
• Failure to properly attach the connector to the oximeter module and/or the PXC2 extension cable connector will result
in intermittent readings, inaccurate results, or no reading.
• rainbow CO-Oximetry measurements are not available when the PXC2 extension cable is used with the 14 pin to 20 pin
adapter cable on rainbow SET™ technology.
• Always refer to the oximeter module Operator's Manual for complete instructions or additional instructions.
• Carefully route cable and patient cable to reduce the possibility of patient entanglement or strangulation.
• Do not attempt to reprocess, recondition or recycle Masimo patient cables as these processes may damage the electrical
components, potentially leading to patient harm.
MOUNTING INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Refer to Fig. 1. Punch or machine the panel the extension cables will be mounted into (following the dimensions given
