Programs 21 to 99
After having selected a program from 21 to 99, press key
to go straight to the intensity control.
Intensity control
By "intensity" we mean the value of current emitted to the body part and thus the degree of stimulation
causing the muscle to contract. Symbol
appears on the display (fig. 13 pag 125): you can now
adjust the intensity using keys
and
(1÷99). The intensity rises or falls on all the selected
channels at the same time. When you set the intensity, the clock begins to flash indicating that the
equipment is providing energy (fig. 14 pag 125). You can, however, access each channel during use
to control the intensity independently: simply press key
to select the channel whose intensity you
want to change and then use keys
and
to increase or decrease the value. Fig. 15 pag 125
shows that the intensity values for the 4 channels can be different.
The display constantly updates the treatment time until completion, as well as showing all the set
parameters, meaning that you can always control the treatment.
At the end of the treatment, the Tesmed Max 830 clears the intensity setting for all output channels. You
can now switch the equipment off by pressing key
for 2 seconds or set new parameters to begin a
new treatment. Use keys
and
, to increase or decrease the value of any parameter (in steps
of one unit). Keep pressed for faster increases/decreases.
NB: To perceive a change in intensity in a single channel or all channels, changes are only made when the
muscle is contracting. This avoids the risk of uncontrolled or sudden changes in intensity. During the
treatment you can quickly clear the intensity setting by pressing key
. briefly. All the default parameter
settings are restored and so you can start increasing/decreasing the intensity again to resume the
treatment.
Frequency control (for programs 01 to 20)
Programs 01 to 20 let you correct the pulse frequency value at will. The "frequency" is the number of
pulses per second. When you change the frequency, you feel an increase or decrease in the speed of
stimulation. These programs are identified by a special symbol
on the display (fig. 16 pag 125).
After starting the treatment, press key
for 3 seconds to enter the frequency control mode. Press
keys
and
repeatedly to increase or to decrease the frequency. The symbol
flashes (at
a varying speed) to indicate frequency control mode. Press key
once to quit frequency control
mode.
NB: if in frequency control mode during a treatment and you want to clear the intensity, briefly press
key
twice. All the default parameter settings are restored and so you can start
increasing/decreasing the intensity again to resume the treatment.
Error warning
The Tesmed Max 830 automatically goes into error mode if an electrode comes loose. In this case, the
equipment display will show "er" (flashing for about 5 seconds) against the channel with the current
distribution problem (fig. 17 pag 125). All pulses are stopped immediately and "00" appears as the
insensity value on the display. The error message can mean that:
• There are no electrodes connected to the channel in error mode.
• The electrodes are not properly adhered to the skin: reposition the electrodes or replace if too old.
• The cable used to connect the electrodes is faulty: check by inverting two cables.
