ACTIVATION

The device is factory calibrated to regulate output pressure at 50 PSI
(3.5 bar). This regulaton pressure can be increased up to 94 PSI (6.5
bar) to accommodate a variety of system application needs. This is
helpful when the systems pump produces pressures that could harm
the plumbing if left unregulated. The primary activation method is a
water flow rate equal to or greater than 0.25 gpm (1L/min).
Secondary Backup System Start/Stop Operation
The device is factory calibrated to activate the pump under two
different conditions. First, when water flow exceeds 0.25 gpm (1L/
min); secondly, if the system pressure drops more than 30 psi (2.0
bar) below the regulation pressure. Either of those events should
activate the pump. As the maximum set point is adjusted up or down
(by turning the dial on the back of the control device, as described
in the "Setting the System Pressure" section), the 30 psi low pressure
cut-in command will follow.
NOTE: The pump must generate at least 20 psi (1.5 bar) beyond
the system's set regulation pressure to ensure proper system shut-off.
Hazardous Pressure
Booster pumps can produce significant water
pressure within a plumbing system. This
could cause damage to pipes and/or fixtures.
To prevent personal or property damage,
install a pressure relief valve capable of
conveying the entire water volume to a drain. Maximum system
working pressure is not to exceed 174 psi (400 ft of head).
Setting the System Pressure
1.
Open a service point to start the pump, then close the tap and
wait for the pump to stop. Read the system pressure on the
gauge. The unit is factory set at 50 psi (3.5 bar).
2. Open a service point, allowing the pump to activate, and turn
the knob (Figures 8 and 9) in a clockwise direction to increase
pressure or counterclockwise to reduce pressure.
3. Close the service point to read the gauge and repeat step 2 as
necessary until the desired pressure is reached.
Automatic Restart
In the event of a run dry situation, the device will automatically make
10 attempts over the next 24 hours at various set time intervals. Each
attempt is approximately 5 seconds to allow for prime if required.
After the 24 hour period the red LED will blink and you must press the
"Restart" button to perform a manual reset.
NOTE: In the event of a power outage, the device will
automatically reset once power returns.
Anti Pump-Lockup Start
If for any reason the pump remains idle for 24 consecutive hours,
the device will carry out an autorun feature to keep the system free
of debris and clogs. The pump/motor will run for approximately 5
seconds during this test.

MAINTENANCE

This device is maintenance-free. In case of system maintenance,
review and understand the following safety warnings and product
instructions prior to performing any service.
Hazardous voltage.
Can shock, burn, or cause death.
Ground the device before connecting to
power supply. Disconnect power before
working on the device, pump, or motor.
Hazardous pressure.
Relieve system pressure before
disassembling the device.
WARNING
Before disconnecting the pump, be sure
the fuse box leads are disconnected or the power is turned off. After
reassembling the pump, refer to these instructions before running.
WARNING
Hazardous voltage can shock, burn, or
cause death. Disconnect power to pump before servicing unit.
Draining
NOTICE
Disconnecting the pump will not necessarily
drain all other parts of the piping system. If there are any concerns
with the proper procedure or necessity of draining the suction
plumbing, contact a water systems professional.
All piping and water tanks exposed to freezing weather should be
drained. If there are any concerns with the proper procedure to
drain the system's pressure tank, contact the tank manufacturer
for assistance.
