Planning for Updating Existing MDA or HDA Installations

When planning to install Leviton HDF3168 MDA Frame as an upgrade, the planner needs to evaluate the
cables, connectors, polarity method* and hardware in the existing installation (patch panels and cable
management). HDX High Density cassettes and adapter plates can be interchanged or replaced to
provide migration from 10G to 40G or 100G.
The following are maximum recommended capacities for each HDF Frame by connector type: 40G and
100G systems are only recommended to use 18 Deck Units due to high trunk counts and associated
cable management limitations.
