4. If a second splicing tray is needed, remove the cover from the bottom splicing tray and stack the
second tray above the first.
5. Install the Velcro by inserting the loops over each arrow lance point and secure the splicing tray
stack to the splice deck tray (Figure 17).

Installing Label Cards and creating custom labels

Each Patch Deck and Splice Deck is provided with label strips for installation in each tray. Label strips
are inserted into the magnification holder from the top. Laser printed labels can be created with Rhino
6000 and 6500 series or other professional labeling tools. Recommended label tape size is 3/8".

Trunk Installation

As the HDF3168 HD Frame allows for a very high density, trunk routing and management are vital to
allow for future access, proper support and bend radius control. The following guidelines and best
practices will ensure a successful installation.
Notice: The HDF3168 MDA frame is intended for use with Leviton trunks designed with a specific
24" breakout. Using trunks with alternate breakout lengths may result in dressing, storage or
damage related issues.
5.1

Installing Trunk cabling

1. Route cables from overhead pathways or from below raised access floor into the HDF3168 MDA
frame as required.
a. The following are examples of cabling being routed from below via raised access flooring
(Figure 18) and from above (Figure 19).
