ii. If using adjustable tile edging, grommet or air blocking devices with edge overlap
of greater than 0.75", install all devices in the tile opening prior to mounting the
frame. Apply spacers, such as 5/8" flat washers at each threaded rod location as
needed to elevate the frame above the tile cut and selected device.
Tip:
In a Raised Access Floor environment, the HDF3168 MDA Frame is designed to be placed
directly over one 2' x 2' floor tile. If this is not achievable due to spatial or existing
conditions, ensure that a minimum of one removable tile is available for under floor access
within reach of the Frame.
d. Position the frame as desired and mark the 4 mounting hole positions on the floor tile.
e. Drill 5/8" holes through the Floor tile to allow for ½" all-thread pass through.
f.
Using a plumb bob or level mark the anchor positions in the building structure.
g. Drill a hole appropriate for the concrete anchor to be used. Consult the manufacturer's
documentation for product specific information.
h. Install the concrete anchors.
i.
Position the frame over the holes in the raised access floor tile accounting for edging or
grommet devices as discussed previously.
j.
Install the threaded rod trough the Frame mounting holes, and if required the seismic
mounting kit (optional) and into the concrete anchors.
k. Secure and tighten all hardware to the manufacturers recommended values.
