Removal of light scratching and
smoke stains can be achieved
through the use of Meguiars
Mirror Glaze Plastic Cleaner
#M1708 and Clear Plastic Polish
#M1008.
3. Reinstalling the Defender Lens
a. Slide each quick-connect down
into each slot from where it was
removed. The quick-connects
will "click" into place when fully
engaged.
b. Re-attach cloth heatshield to
velcro hook fasteners on impact
cap.
Note: Position cloth heatshield as
close to the suspension headband as
possible so to not contact front
mounting screws on underside of
brim.

Defender Lens before cleaning
1. Thermoplastic Shell [Models 360R,
360R-13, 360S, and 880]:
a. To clean, use mild cleaning
agents such as ethyl alcohol or a
mild detergent and water, and a
soft sponge or cloth. NEVER use
abrasives, solvents paint

2. Fiberglass Composite Shell
[Models 660C Metro, 664, 1010,
1044, HP3]:
a. To clean, use only mild solvents,
such as ethyl alcohol, mild
detergents and water, mild abra-
sives, industrial cleaners (such
as DuPont
tone, or paint remover.
3. Leather Shell [Models N5A and
N6A]:
a. To clean, use only mild deter-
gents and lukewarm water. To
remove dripping of tar, industrial
cleaners (such as DuPont
Remover) can be used. Use only
on tar spots, not the entire sur-
face. Other spots can be
cleaned with alcohol if an organ-
ic solvent is required. Markings
or touch-ups can be done with a
good quality enamel.
4. Flannel Headband Liners and
Defender Lens cloth heatshield [All
Models except N5A and N6A]:
a. To clean flannel headband liners,
machine wash and dry on low
settings.
INSPECTION
1. Inspect the helmet, including all
accessories after EACH use for
impact, thermal, and use damage.
