5 – OIL LEVEL
- As the pump is placed horizontally, the oil level should be visible between the centre
(red point) and the top of the gauge.
- If necessary, adjust the level by using exclusively the original oil AQUA-BASE Ref.
752038.
- Check that the air-intake hole of the pump casing, placed in the centre of the filler
cap, isn't clogged.
6 – HP PUMP OIL CHANGE
This should be carried out every year and each time that an anomaly is detected: strong persistent emulsion (foam) visible via the gauge even
after stopping of the unit, accidental introduction of water in the pump casing, accidental and prolonged over speed of the pump,...
- Open the filling plug and check that the air-intake hole of the pump casing, placed in the centre of the filler cap, isn't clogged. Clear it if
necessary.
- Loosen the oil change plug, take it out and wait until all the oil contained in the pump casing has drained.
- Replace the oil change plug and fill up with oil using only original oil AQUA-BASE, and controlling the level with the gauge.
- Shut the HP pump filling hole.
7 – CLEANING THE SALINITY CELL
The cleaning of the cell should be carried out every year and each time an anomaly
has been caused by bad operating: faulty salinity control, discharge anomaly,...
- Unscrew the cell lock nut.
- Take the cell out of its housing.
- Clean the cell electrodes with a brush under running water and, if necessary, using a
domestic detergent.
- Rinse the cell with running water and put it back into its housing.
- Screw the lock nut.
8 – CLEANING OF THE MEMBRANE
When should the membrane(s) be cleaned?
In normal operation, the R/O membrane can be clogged by mineral and organic deposits, which accumulate until they cause a drop in fresh
water production quality and quantity. The membrane should be cleaned each time the quantity or the quality of the produced water changes
excessively. Before proceeding with membrane cleaning check that the change in performance has no other cause, such as:
- Low seawater temperature.
- Filter clogged, water system badly drained, leading to lack of water at the pump.
- Inefficient operation of the HP pump: leaks...
- Pressure badly adjusted.
- Cell clogged.
Cleaning of the membrane can only be carried out when it's inside the pressure vessel. Never take a membrane out
of its pressure vessel.
