If the drivers do not automatically load, an Add New Hardware Wizard will appear to walk you
through the driver installation. You will need to be connected to the Internet to install the
drivers for this card.
A.
The Add New Hardware Wizard will appear. Click Next.
B.
Select Specify a location and then click Next.
C.
Select Windows Update and deselect the other options. This will connect you to the
internet to download the drivers from Microsoft. Click Next.
D.
Once the drivers are installed, click on Finish, and restart your computer. This will
complete the installation process.
Troubleshooting
1. What can I do if the DFW-500 is detected as an OHCI Compliant IRR 1394 Host
Controller?
If the card is NOT detected as a Texas Instruments IEEE 1394 Host Controller or a VIA
OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller, but IS detected as an OHCI Compliant IEEE
1394 Host Controller, follow the steps below.
• Right-click on My Computer and click Properties.
• Click the Hardware Tab, and then click Device Manager.
• Locate the OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394 Host Controller and double click on it.
• Click on the Driver Tab, and then click on Update Driver. Click Next.
• Choose Display a list of the known drivers for this device so that I can choose a
specific driver, then click Next.
• Choose Texas Instruments IEEE 1394 Host Controller and click Next.
• Click Next and then Finish.
2. Why are the devices connected to the DFW-500 not functioning properly?
• When connecting the FireWire cable to the computer, make sure that the FireWire cable
is inserted securely.
• Try using a different FireWire cable.
