05 | FIRST STEPS

05.1 Inserting the battery
Open the battery compartment (07) by sliding the battery compartment cover (07a) in the direction of the arrow. Insert 1 pc AAA
Micro battery LR03 1,5V (optional) according to the polarity markings (+/-) into the battery compartment (07). Close the battery
compartment.
05.2 Mounting on a camera/camcorder
For mounting on your camera or camcorder, slide the universal flash hot shoe (04) in the hot shoe mount of your camera or your
camcorder. Turn down the locking screw (03) to fix the microphone.
05.3 Mounting on a tripod
For mounting on a tripod, screw the CV-02 microphone onto your tripod using the ¼" tripod thread (05) underneath the universal
flash hot shoe (04).
05.4 Mounting on a smartphone
For mounting on a smartphone you need an optional smartphone holder with hot shoe, e.g. from DÖRR:

06 | OPERATION
Connect your camera/smartphone to the microphone by plugging the 3,5 mm TRRS mini jack plug (02a) into the microphone socket
of your camera or the headphone socket of your smartphone.

For use with a camera/camcorder, slide the switch (06) to the camera position (06b)

For use with a smartphone, slide the switch (06) to the smartphone position (06a)
Start the video recording/voice recording on your camera or smartphone.
NOTE: When used with smartphone
To hear the sound while playing the video or audio recording, please unplug the cable from your
smartphone/tablet.
To minimize wind noise, slide the supplied foam windshield (08) over the microphone.
In very strong winds, use the supplied fur windshield (09).
