1.4.1. WHAT YOU MUST DO:

Find out how to switch off the compressor quickly and familiarise yourself with the operation
of all the controls.
Before any intervention, depressurise the compressor and filter casing and disconnect the
power supply in order to prevent inadvertent starting of the unit.
Ensure that all the components are re--installed correctly following any maintenance work.
Always perform the checks described in the section "Initial Operation" prior to initially operat-
ing the compressor in order to ensure safe operation.
Keep children and animals away from the working area in order to prevent injuries caused
by components attached to the compressor.

1.4.2. WHAT YOU MUST AVOID:

Do not work near open flames.
Do not touch the cylinder head or the cooling fins as these parts reach very
high temperatures during operation and remain hot for a certain period after the
unit has been switched off.
Do not allow any flammable objects or nylon or fabric components to come
near the compressor.
Do not move the compressor while the compressed air cylinders are under
pressure.
Do not start up the compressor if the power cable is damaged or the power
supply is unsafe.
Ensure that no--one can operate the compressor without having received
suitable prior instruction.
Do not strike the flywheel or fan wheel with sharp or metallic objects. They
could break during operation.
Never operate the compressor without an air filter.
Do not perform any adjustment or repair work to the safety valve.
