H – PROCEDURE FOR REPLACEMENT OF THE BRAKE LININGS ON THE
WINCH
Material required :
1) Removing the worn lining set
a) First check that the beam, head and column unit are in the bottom position.
b) Unscrew the screw, item 1 situated at the end of the handle, item 3, using an 11mm open ended
spanner in order to remove the washer, item 2, before removing the handle, item 3, by locking the
winch's coil.
c) Unscrew the nut, item 5, from the casing, item 7, using a 14mm open-ended spanner, as well as the
screw, item 4, using a screwdriver. Remove the casing, item 7.
d) Remove the washer, item 8, then the first worn brake lining and then, releasing the ratchet, item 10
from the ratchet wheel, item 9, remove this wheel in order to remove the second brake lining.
2) Refitting with the new lining set
a) Fit one of the two new linings (from set ref. PR 0181) onto the pin, then the ratchet wheel, item 9,
making sure that the ratchet, item 10, is correctly positioned above the wheel. Make sure that the
ratchet wheel, item 9, is fitted in the correct direction.
b) Fit the second new lining (from set ref. PR 0181), then the washer, item 8, and refit the casing, item
7.
c) Fix the casing, item 7, using the nut + washer, items 5 and 6, and the screw, item 4.
d) Refit the handle, item 3, onto its pin, bringing it as far as it will go against the washer, item 8. Lock
the winch's coil to perform this operation.
e) Refit the washer, item 2 on the screw, item 1, then screw the latter onto the handle's pin and lock it.
Lock also the winch's coil to perform this operation. Do a few raising and lowering tests (with no
load).
RECOMMENDATIONS :
 Take care to make the position of each part visible before removing it so as to limit the risks or
errors.
