NOTE:
Ideal body fat content is not the same for all people. Age, sex, and heredity are variables in
this measurement. Always consult your physician to determine what is most ideal for you.
Why it is Important to Monitor Your Total Body Water (TBW%) Percentage?
Water is an essential component of the body and is one of the body's overall health
indicators. Water makes up approximately 50-70% of the body's weight and is present
proportionally more in lean tissue as compared to fat tissue.
Monitoring the level of body water can be a useful tool for one's health maintenance. Similar to
body fat estimation, the TBW% (Total Body Water %) function provided in this scale is based
on BIA. The estimated TBW% may vary according to your hydration level. For better accuracy,
avoid fluctuations in hydration level prior to taking a measurement. The accuracy of the scale in
estimating TBW% will also decrease with individuals suffering from diseases or illnesses that
tend to accumulate water in the body. Please remember that the scale represents only a good
approximation of your total body water.

Caution
BIA (Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis) method determines your body fat and body water percentage
by sending a harmless signal through the body. Do not use this product if you have a
pacemaker, artificial limbs, contraceptive devices, metal plates/screws or other internal
medical devices. When in doubt, contact your physician.
This analyzer will give accurate body fat and body water % readings for a majority of people, but is
not intended for use by the following groups:
Children: Anyone under the age of 10 years
Pregnant Women
Note: This instrument is a personal monitor and should be used in a consistent
manner for the most accurate reading. While readings might vary between this
analyzer and other methods of measurement (hydrodensitometry or hand held calipers),
your changes in body fat percentage shown by this instrument will be reflected accurately.

Battery Installation

1. Uses one 9-Volt alkaline battery (not included).
2. Remove Battery Compartment Cover on the bottom of the scale and insert
the battery into the 9-Volt battery snap.
3. The scale needs to be initialized before first use or after battery replacement:
