membrane free. Substitute the membrane for a new one, wind the closure to the protector and fill it with the electrolyte, trying not to
leave any air inside. Finally, clean the electrode with the electrolyte and wind the electrode to the protector.
.- Put the Chlorine-Bromine cells incide the chamber analysis and connect the cell to the PW Basic. Whenever you do this, you will
have to adjust the Chlorine-Bromine cells afterwards.
12. DRAWS ORGANIC CHLORINE BROMINE CELLS: CHANGE OF ELECTROLYTE AND MEMBRANE
If it is necessary, change the following elements after
every 6 months of working range: the membrane
protecting outfit (1) and the electrolyte (gel) of the Organic
chlorine or Bromine cell.
For this purpose, disconnect the Organic Chlorine or
Bromine cell (5) and take it out of the analysis chamber
(B). Next unscrew the film protecting outfit (1), leaving the
electrode of the cell uncovered. Clean it softly with a
tissue until the whole of the adhered electrolyte has been
removed. Substitute the film protecting outfit (1,2) with the
electrolyte for a new one, following the steps below:
- Fill up the membrane protecting outfit (1,2) with the
electrolyte which is supplied with a water gauge (3-4) to
the point where the screw start, taking care that there is
no air bubble.
- Screw the membrane protecting outfit to the electrode of
the cell, carefully, and in vertical position, turning round
by hand as much as possible. First, air and excess of
electrolyte go out through the lower hole of the
parcelling, which is in a slot of the film protecting outfit. It
is also possible that a bit of electrolyte overflows
between the membrane protecting outfit and the Organic
Chlorine or Bromine cell. In this case, clean with tissue
or similar.
- Introduce the cell correctly joined up in the chamber of
analysis.
- Finally, contact the cell to the cable.
It is not necessary to make zero calibration. The slope is
calibrated with the photometer or similar device (DPD-1)
and its value is introduced in the DPD adjustment of the
central of the PoolWatch Basic pH/Organic Chlorine-
Bromine according the working instructions.
Never not to leave the sensor of chlorine or of bromine without water for 3 days. In case it was the equipment 1 week or more is
necessary that membrane and the electrolyte is eliminated and the electrode of the sensor dries off, eliminating quite remains of the
electrolyte. Once effected this operation recommends to itself to guard the Cl/Br sensor in a dry, drafty place and temperature does
not carry to extremes. As soon as it returns to re-use the probe it will have to place membrane and new electrolytes.
IN A REPAIR:
The organic chlorine or bomine cell (1) and its adapter (2c) are mounted on the deposit (2d) which is full of water because the
membrane must be never be dry. Once the hydraulic installation of the PoolWatch Basic pH / Organic Chlorine-Bromine set is finished
and we have water inside the analysis deposit, we can proceed to start up the equipment and install the organic chlorine or bromine
cell. Separate the cell / adapter set from the deposit (2d) by holding the adapter (2c) and unscrewing it from the deposit (2d). We will
then locate the set in the analysis tank.
