Suspension Method
4
(FX900/1200)
Any suitable chain with a suitable load capacity may be used
to secure the unit. Please refer to Fig. 5 for unit weights.
I M P O R T A N T !
No less than 4 chains should be used to suspend the
unit. Chain lengths should be as short as possible
and should be spread so that they angle away from
the unit- at least 20 degrees out of vertical.
If using Royal Products suspension kit:
a) Secure suitable lengths of chain to eyebolts on unit casing
using split links provided.
b) Fit eyebolts provided to suitable load bearing area of
ceiling or framework.
c) Secure chains to eyebolts using remaining split links. The
turnbuckle provided should be fitted in one length of chain
and adjusted until the unit is level.

Ducting
5
Flexible oil resistant ducting should be used to connect the unit
inlet to the machine cabinet.
All ducting should be kept as short and as straight as possible.
Long runs of ducting can dramatically reduce the airflow of
the unit. "U" bends will also have the same effect, allowing oil
to collect within the bend, thereby restricting the airflow still
further.
NOTE: Only use continuous lengths of liquid-tight
ductwork. Sheetmetal HVAC ductwork could leak and
cause a hazardous condition.

hose should be long enough to reach the machine sump,
machine bed or other collection vessel.
The hose should be free of kinks and bends and the end
must not be submerged or blocked.
MAINTENANCE
For normal machining operations the following
maintenance routines are recommended.
EVERY 1000 HOURS RUNNING TIME
Clean area where top & bottom of case join together
●
Install new drum pads
●
Install new seal
●
Check inlet is clear
●
EVERY 2000 HOURS RUNNING TIME
Remove drum and clean
●

●
Clean drain hole
●
Install new drum pads and silencer
●
Change motor AV mounts
●
Install new seal
●

●
For FX300/575 a 22mm thin walled socket should be used
when removing the drum, and should be retightend to 20Nm.
In more arduous conditions e.g. grinding or cast-iron
machining the units should be checked and cleaned on a
more frequent basis according to duty.
