1) Controllare che la guarnizione della ghiera sia in posizione e non danneggiato ogni volta che il corpo
spina è aperto.
2) Controllare che le viti di fissaggio siano in posizione e serrate a fondo ogni volta che la spina è
inserita nella presa
3) Verificare annualmente che le viti/bulloni di montaggio siano ben serrati
4) Controllare eventuali danni al corpo spina annualmente
5) Nelle aree con presenza di polveri combustibili pulire periodicamente la superficie superiore
dell'assemblato, limitando la profondità dello strato a meno di 5 mm.
Condizioni di stoccaggio
Temperatura di stoccaggio: da -50°C a +70°C per 16A/32A.
Temperatura di Stoccaggio : da -35°C a +70°C per 63A/125A.
Umidità relativa : ≤95%RH.
La durata stimata del prodotto è di 10 anni se le condizioni di manutenzione e conservazione sono
rispettate e tutte le prescrizioni specificate sono applicate in queste istruzioni.
6.2 Resistenza agli agenti chimici
Occorre prendere in considerazione l'ambiente in cui le cassette saranno utilizzate per determinare
l'idoneità dei materiali di resistere a eventuali agenti corrosivi che potrebbero essere presenti.
6.3 Smaltimento
Lo smaltimento e il riciclaggio del prodotto devono essere effettuati secondo le normative nazionali per
lo smaltimento e il riciclaggio dei rifiuti.

1. Installation, Operation and Maintenance Instructions for safe use.
1.1 Safety rules.
OPTIMA-EX[GD] are designed as Group II Category 2 equipment and is suitable for use for fixed
installation in areas with explosion hazard designated Zone 1/21 and Zone 2/22. These operating
instructions must be kept in safe place for later consultation. Use OPTIMA-EX[GD] only for their
intended duty in the undamaged and clean condition, and only where the resistance of the material to
the surroundings is assured. No modifications are allowed to the OPTIMA-EX[GD] that are not expressly
mentioned in this instruction manual. When installing the OPTIMA-EX[GD] the clearance and creepage
distance shall be duly considered as topic 5.3 table 5.
The OPTIMA-EX[GD] are available in materials GRP with the following rated current 16A, 32A, 63A, 125A.
The plug series OPTIMA-EX[GD] have to be used only with SCAME socket series ADVANCE-GRP[GD], Ex
db eb IIC / Ex tb IIIC , with separated certification. The ADVANCE-GRP[GD] socket switch-handle move a
mechanical interlock mechanism that avoid to separate the plug contacts from the plug outlet when the
contacts are energized. The plug series OPTIMA-EX[GD] can be to pull-out only when the handle is in position
0 (zero).

5. Installation
Installation shall be carried out by suitably-trained personnel in accordance with the
applicable code of practice (e.g. IEC EN 60079-14) and the provisions of the national
safety and accident prevention regulations and this instruction manual.
5.1 Safety Instructions
Use the plug only for its intended purpose. Incorrect or impermissible use or noncompliance with these
instructions invalidates our warranty provision. No changes to the plug impairing its explosion protection
are permitted. Fit and operate the switch only if it is clean and undamaged.
5.2 Accessories
• Protection cup
Only approved and genuine SCAME accessories must be used.
5.3 Creepage and Clearance distances
All wiring must be carried out in accordance with the code of practice and installation standards in
hazardous areas like IEC EN 60079-14.
Use the correct size of tool and torque (see manufacturer documents) for tightening the terminal clamps
(screwdriver or spanner).
Creepage and clearance distances shall comply with IEC EN 60079-7 / ГОСТ Р МЭК 60079-7-2012
(table 1), electrical parameters shall not exceed the maximum allowed.

other live parts are:
