too tight to avoid damaging the thread.
Meaning
Attention Important
A sign certifying that the
product complies with es-
sential requirements of the
EU directives and harmo-
nized EU standards
Useful information
Wear protective gloves
Do not dispose of the power
tool in a domestic waste
container
Mounting / dismounting / setting-up of
some elements is the same for all power
tool models, in this case specific models
are not indicated in the illustration.
Additional handle (see fig. 1)
Always use the additional handle 5 when operating
Additional handle 5 may be positioned as deemed
comfortable by the user
• Loose additional handle 5 as shown in fig. 1.1.
• Place additional handle 5 in desired position (see
fig. 1.2).
• Tighten additional handle 5 as shown in fig. 1.3.
Mounting / replacement of accessories (see fig. 2)
During the mounting of the tool please
prove that the dust protection casing 2 is
not damaged. In the case of damage the
dust protection casing 2 is to be replaced
immediately at the specialized CROWN service
centre.
Borers SDS MAX, due to the design peculi-
arities of chucks SDS MAX, can move freely
within a certain range This is why a radial
run-out appears at no-load idle running,
which is automatically centred at drilling It does not
influence hole-drilling accuracy.
• Before installing the borer (chisel), clean it and apply
a thin oil layer
• When mounting borer (chisel):
• insert (slightly twisting) the borer (chisel) into the
chuck 1 (SDS MAX) against stop (see fig. 2.1);
• test the borer (chisel) fixing by trying to remove it
from chuck 1 (SDS MAX)
• When removing borer (chisel):
• move fixing bush 3 back and hold it in this position
(see fig. 2.2);
• extract the borer (chisel) from the chuck 1
(SDS MAX) (see fig. 2.2);
• release fixing bush 3
Gloves are to be used when removing the
borer (chisel) from chuck, as the borer
(chisel) may be dangerously hot after
long drilling.
Replacing the dust protection casing (see fig. 3)
Dust protection casing 2 prevents the
dust from entering the SDS MAX chuck.
Never use your power tool with a dam-
aged dust protection casing 2 - if dam-
aged, it must be immediately replaced. You can
either do it on your own, or contact the CROWN
service center.
• Move fixing bush 3 back and hold it in that position
(see fig. 3.1).
• Pull dust protection casing 2, and remove it (see
fig. 3.2).
• Install a new dust protection casing 2 (see fig. 3.3).
• Release fixing bush 3 (see fig. 3.4).
