Initial operating of the power tool
• Always use the correct supply voltage: the power
supply voltage must match the information quoted on
the power tool identification plate.
• The power tool is supplied properly lubricated and
ready for use
• A new power tool needs some time for its parts to
run in before a full load operation The run-in period
duration is about 5 hours of operation
• The gear lubrications require a short time to get
warm Depending on the ambient temperature this
period of time can alter within the range of approxi-
mately 15 s (at ambient temperature of 32°С) up to 2
minutes (at ambient temperature of 0°С).
Switching the power tool on / off
Switching on:
Press on / off switch 9
Switching off:
Release the on / off switch 9
Long-term switching on / off (for work in chiselling
mode only)
At first, turn on the power tool in chiselling mode,
as described below and shown onto fig. 5.2.
Switching on:
Set locking button 7 into the "ON" position (see fig. 4).
Switching off:
Set locking button 7 into the "OFF" position (see fig. 4).
Design features of the power tool
Operation mode regulator (see fig. 5)
Switching the operation modes shall be
carried out only in the off mode of the
tool's motor.
Function switch 6 is designed for the switching the
following operation modes of the power tool (see
fig. 5):
Impact drilling (set the function switch 6 in the posi-
tion indicated in figure 5.1) - impact drilling in masonry,
concrete, natural stone
Chiselling (set the function switch 6 in the position
indicated in figure 5.2) - chiselling ducts in masonry,
concrete, stone, removing ceramic tiles
Chisel rotation (set the function switch 6 in the posi-
tion indicated in figure 5.3) - this mode does not allow
operating your power tool, but allows setting the chisel
in a comfortable position for chiselling works
In order to make switching between the
operation modes smoother, rotate slight-
ly chuck 1 (SDS MAX) by hand.
Speed selector thumbwheel
Use speed selector thumbwheel 8 to set required revo-
lutions, impact frequency and impact power
The required speed is dependent on the material and
can be determined with practical trials
When operating your power tool at a low speed for a long
time, it has to be cooled down for 3 minutes To do it, set
a maximum speed and leave your power tool to run idle
Vibration protection system
The vibration protection system is design to reduce vi-
bration impact (during operation) on the operator
Safety clutch
The safety clutch protects the power tool against over-
load and damage in case of accessory sticking during
drilling
Power indicator
Power indicator 10 is on when the power tool is con-
nected to the mains and is ready to be switched on
Carbon brush replacement indicator
Carbon brush replacement indicator 11 - signals about
need to replace the carbon brushes
Recommendations on the power tool op-
eration
Wear thick soft gloves when working to
reduce vibration impact on your body.
Always use additional handle 4 when
working, it will ensure a better control of
your power tool and reduce recoil.
Impact drilling (see fig. 6)
• At impact drilling the result does not depend on the
pressing force you apply to your power tool, which
is due to the impact mechanism design This is why
do not exert excessive pressure on your power tool,
as it may result in borer seizing and motor overload
• In order to decrease dust production when drilling
holes in walls and ceilings, take actions indicated in fig. 6.
Chiselling
• When working, make sure to properly adjust the
working accessory to the material being processed:
not too close to the edge as the power tool will need
to be displaced often, but not too far as the accessory
can get stuck in the material being processed
• Press the power tool while holding it tightly with both
hands Do not use excessive force: the energy of the
percussion mechanism is enough for the effective per-
formance
• Avoid the excessive penetration of the working ac-
cessory into the material being processed (for exam-
ple, when loosening the soil or in the course of the
building structures destruction) as the working acces-
sory may become stuck
• If the working accessory becomes stuck in the ma-
terial during the operation, do not attempt to free it
with the use of the power tool as a lever as the power
tool can be damaged Remove the power tool from
