Power Switch – This turns the unit on and off.
15.
Power Supply Input Connector- Use this to connect the supplied power adapter. Note: It is very
important that you keep the power switch in the "Off" position before connecting the power adapter;
otherwise, you may damage your ZoneMix 6.
Ground Lift Switch – Under ordinary operating conditions, keep this switch set to Out. However, if
you have a ground hum in your system and you can't find the source of the problem, try setting this
switch to In.
16.
Balanced Zone B Connectors – These are Stereo Balanced 1/4" TRS connectors controlled by the
Zone B Gain, EQ, and L/R knobs. Note: Whenever possible, balanced lines should be used so as to
avoid the hum than can be induced in audio cables by power transformers and other devices that
generate magnetic fields. Balanced lines are also the most effective means of reducing or eliminating
RF (radio frequency) interference.
17.
Balanced Zone A Connectors – These are Stereo Balanced XLR connectors controlled by the Zone
A Gain, EQ, and L/R knobs.
18.
Zone A XLR Output Gain Trim – This selector switch only affects the XLR outputs for Zone A. It
allows the output of Zone A to be adjusted to match optimal input levels of amplifiers and other
devices. If the Zone A XLR Output level is too hot, select a lower setting for the Zone A Output Gain
Trim switch.
19.
Unbalanced Zone Connectors – These RCA connectors provide audio output controlled by their
respective Zone knobs.
20.
Record Output Connectors – These unbalanced RCA connectors contain the combined signals from
each input. The input level knobs will control the mix level. The Zone knobs will have no effect on the
Record Output signal.
21.
Unbalanced Line Input Connectors - These unbalanced RCA connectors may be used with stereo
audio from CD players, HiFi VCRs, tape decks, tuners, synthesizers, or even other audio mixers (such
as another ZoneMix 6). If the input source is mono, use a "Y" cable connector to connect both the Left
and Right connectors. Note: Line 3 Input is designed to receive both turntable and line-level signals,
depending on the Phono/Aux Line switch setting (see below).
22.
Phono/Aux Line Switch – This slide switch allows the user to connect either a turntable or a line-
level device to the Line 3 Input. If you want to use this input for a turntable, set the switch to Phono;
the input signal will be fed directly to the high-quality RIAA phono pre-amplifiers. Note: Line-level
sources will overload the sensitive phono pre-amps, so if you want to use this input for line-level
devices such as CD players and tape decks, set the switch to the Aux Line position.
23.
Ground Lug – Use this as a connection for your turntable's grounding cable to avoid signal hum.
24.
Neutrik™ "Combo" Connectors – This allows the use of either a balanced 1/4" line input or a
dynamic microphone, depending upon switch position (see below).
25.
Mic/Line Switch – This is used to select whether the Neutrik™ "Combo" Connector will receive its
signal from a balanced line input or a dynamic microphone.
Note: Always check the Mic/Line Switch settings before connecting XLR or 1/4" cables! You can
damage your speakers and/or hearing if the setting does not match the incoming signal.
26.
Stereo/Mono Switch – This allows the use of a "Y" splitter to bring a stereo signal into the Neutrik™
"Combo" Connector. If you are doing this, set this switch to Stereo. Otherwise, leave it set to Mono.
27.
Auto-Ducking Gain Reduction Switch – This configures the front panel microphone to reduce the
level of other sources automatically when that microphone is used. The settings include Off, -12dB,
and – 40dB (complete reduction).
28.
Front Mic Auto-Ducking Threshold Knob – This knob determines the point at which the Auto-
Ducking feature activates. The further this knob is turned in a counter-clockwise direction, the less
loudly you will need to speak into your microphone to activate the Auto-Ducking feature.
