2. For your safety

2.1 General safety instructions

The door fitting may be installed only in approved mounting positions. A different use other
than specified is not permitted. Legal regulations have to be observed and may prohibit the
use on fire doors, smoke control doors and escape route doors.

2.2 Product-specific safety instructions

The door fitting contains sensitive electronic components. Protect the door fitting against
unintended impacts and shocks. Follow the instructions in this manual for the assembly of
the door fitting.
Installation on fire and smoke control doors
For fire doors: Use of the fire / smoke protection kit in combination with DORMA
FS handle FR is required (conformity with EN 1634-1, fire-resistance class EI90).
A verification of suitability for the respective fire and smoke control door
may be required.
Installation on escape route doors
The installation in the direction of escape is not allowed. The installation against the
direction of escape (e.g. as an outer access device in combination with emergency door
locks) is permitted when combined with a door handle set according to EN 179. This set
must be suitable for use with a handle square according to DIN 18255.
Installation in explosive areas
The door fitting MATRIX AIR may not be used in explosive areas.
The device is rated as a class 2 radio transmission
system in accordance with the R&TTE directive 1999/5/EC.
The frequency bands are not harmonized. In some countries, the operation may not be
permitted or may be subject to restrictions.
Device with an internal power supply EN 60950-1. Exposure of people to
electromagnetic fields EN 50364 and EN 62479.
