Initial cleaning and heating

When the laboratory hot plate is heated up for the first time or after a long period out of use, a temporary
smell will develop, which is caused by small particles of dust burning and water inside the insulation
system evaporating. To remove any accessible dust particles from the glass-ceramic heating area, use a
mild detergent to clean the glass-ceramic surface. Then rub the surface dry with a soft cloth.
