General Description
The BUS System Distributor makes it possible to connect multiple
frequency inverters in an RS-485 network using RJ-45 cabling. You can
then control, monitor and edit the configuration of multiple inverters from a
single personal computer. The distributor is available in two versions:
b
FR-RJ45-HUB4 with 4 RJ-45 connectors
This distributor supports connection of up to two frequency inverters
to one computer.

Installation and Wiring
P
DANGER
b Cut off all phases of the power source externally before start-
ing the installation or wiring work, thus avoiding electric shock
or damages to the product.
b Before starting installation wait for at least 10 minutes after the
power supply has been switched off. The capacitor is charged
with high voltage for some time after power off and it is danger-
ous.
b The inverter must be earthed. Earthing must conform to the
requirements of national and local safety regulations and elec-
trical codes. (JIS, NEC section 250, IEC 536 class 1 and other
applicable standards)
b Do not perform parts removal which is not instructed in this
manual. Doing so may lead to fault or damage of the inverter.
E
CAUTION
b Use the frequency inverter and the BUS system distributor in
the environment within the general specifications described in
the instruction manual of the inverter. Never use the products
in areas with dust, oily smoke, conductive dusts, corrosive or
flammable gas, vibrations or impacts, or expose it to high tem-
perature, condensation, or wind and rain.
If the products are used in such a place described above, elec-
trical shock, fire, malfunction, damage, or deterioration may be
caused
.
b When drilling screw holes or wiring, cutting chips or wire chips
should not enter ventilation slits. Such an accident may cause
fire, failure or malfunction.
b Do not touch the conductive parts of the frequency inverter
directly.
b While power is on or for some time after power-off, do not touch
the inverter as it is hot and you may get burnt.
Connection
When installing the BUS System Distributor in a cabinet please fas-
ten the distributor using the lug on the side.
Connect the personal computer to the BUS IN connector using the
SC-FRPC cable. This cable has an integrated RS-232/RS-485 con-
verter.
Connect a frequency inverter to the Inverter 1 connector: Connect
the PU connector on the inverter to the RJ-45 connector on the dis-
tributor using the FR-A5CBL1 cable.
NOTE:
A frequency inverter must be connected to the Inverter 1 connector
because this connector supplies the +5V power required by the inte-
grated RS-232/RS-485 converter in the SC-FRPC cable.
Connect the terminating resistor FR-RJ45TR to the BUS OUT
connector.
