1 Applications
PS-510M is a compact mixer for the audio
signals of two miniature electret microphones
with 4-pole mini XLR connector (e. g. CX-500,
CX...W series, headband microphones and
lavalier microphones of the CX- / CM series).
It is also used for power supply of the
microphones. The mixer uses phantom power
(e. g. from a mixing console) or a 9 V battery
inserted. When the mixer is operated via
battery, the mixed signal of the microphones
can be monitored via the headphone output.
Of course, the mixer can also be used for
power supply and volume adjustment of a
single microphone.
The mixer can be attached to your clothes
via the belt clip (10) on the rear.
2 Important Notes

The product is suitable for indoor use only.
Protect it against dripping water, splash
water and high air humidity. The admissible
ambient temperature range is 0 – 40 °C.
For cleaning the product only use a dry, soft
cloth; never use water or chemicals.
No guarantee claims for the product and no
liability for any resulting personal damage
or material damage will be accepted if the
product is not correctly used or not expertly
repaired.
If the product is to be put out of opera-
tion definitely, dispose of the product in
accordance with local regulations.
Never put batteries in the household waste.

3 Before Operation

3.1 Inserting /replacing the battery

To insert or replace the battery, push the
cover (11) of the battery compartment down-
wards. Remove the battery, insert the new
battery and connect it to the corresponding
contacts. Close the cover of the battery com-
partment.
3.2 Selecting the type of power supply
The switch PHANTOM / BATTERY (5) is used to

BATTERY: The mixer and the microphones
are supplied with power via the
battery inserted.
PHANTOM: Phantom power (12 – 48 V) is used
which is available at the micro-
phone input of many mixing con-
soles and preamplifiers.
Important: To prevent loud switching noise, only
use this switch during operation when the input at
the device connected (e. g. mixing console or ampli-
fier) has been muted or when the volume has been
turned down.
3.3 Selecting the output level
The output level of the mixer can be matched
to the input sensitivity of the subsequent de-
vice: Open the cover of the battery compart-
ment (11) and remove the battery to access
the switch (13) if necessary.

MIC.: For connection to a microphone input.
LINE: For connection to a line level input (e. g.
"LINE IN" or "AUX IN").
If you are not sure about the sensitivity of the
input, set the switch to the position LINE first.
When the sound reproduced is too low, the
switch can be set to MIC later.
Important: To prevent loud switching noise, only
use this switch during operation when the input at
the device connected (e. g. mixing console or ampli-
fier) has been muted or when the volume has been
turned down.

3.4 Making connections

Before connecting /disconnecting, mute the
input or turn down the volume of the corre-
sponding device (e. g. mixing console or am-
plifier).
1) Connect the mini XLR plugs of the two micro-
phones to the jacks IN L (1) and IN R (3). The
plug will be locked; to remove the plug later,
press the button on the side of the plug to
unlock it.
2) Use an XLR cable to connect the output (2)
of the mixer to the input of the subsequent
device (e. g. mixing console or amplifier).
