The webbing is burnt, singed or melted.

There are any torn threads, or heavy abrasion to the webbing.

Bar tacks are abraded or showing wear.

One of the buckles is cracked, corroded, has a burr or is damaged or

deformed in any way.
The webbing is faded from exposure to ultraviolet light.

If a harness has been involved in a severe fall, but is not obviously damaged,
it still may be ready for retirement. If you have any doubts about the
dependability of your harness, retire it and get a new one.
Anytime you retire a piece of gear, destroy it to prevent future use.
Black Diamond SA Harnesses are Type C Sit Harnesses and conform to EN
12277, the European Standard for "Mountaineering equipment - Harnesses
- Safety requirements and test methods."

: This mark is the CE mark of conformity and indicates fulfillment
of the requirements of the Personal Protective Equipment Directive
(89/686/EEC), including type testing of Black Diamond's mountaineering
harnesses and monitoring according to Article 11A by CETE APAVE
SUDEUROPE, BP193, 13322, Marseille Cedex 16, France, notified body
number 0082.
Black Diamond is an ISO 9001 certified company.
RN lABEl: A tag sewn inside your harness's waistbelt that identifies the
harness by name, size and circumference range.
: Pictograph advising the user to read the instructions and warnings.
WARNING: Indicates the inherent dangers and responsibilities the user
