b. Now carefully and slowly pull the tent upright by means of this rope. In one of the previous
steps we indicated that it was not a problem if the pole sets had not been completely slid over
the pins of the anchor. This can be rectified as follows: as one person is pulling the tent upright,
the other person can slide the poles on the pins, so they will slide over the pins entirely in the
end. Even if one or two pole sets were not on the pins at all ('floating pole set(s)'), this can be
rectified when pulling the tent upright; one person puts this 'floating' pole set(s) on the pin(s)
while the other person pulls the tent upright slowly. Beware: Remember to not pull on the pole
sets, just guide them along.
5.2 Setting a size L tent upright:
a. The tent is still on the ground. The topmost tunnel, with pole set, has 3 openings. Tie the rope
to the pole set in the middle opening of the tent. First, make a little loop on the end where the
rope fastener is not located and then move the rope through this loop (behind the tent pole).
b. In one of the preceding steps we mentioned that it was not a problem if the poles had not slid
over the anchor pins perfectly, but now is the time to rectify this. To do so, never pull the poles!
To rectify this, one person should push / "carry" (from the center of the tent) the canvas band(s)
in question (still lying on the ground) in the direction of the anchors, while the second person
guides the pole set(s) onto the pins of the anchor(s).
c. When the tent poles are all aligned into the pins, the tent is ready to be pulled up. Do not erect
the tent by pulling on the tension rope; This can lead to fractures in the tent poles. Follow
these steps: The upper blue/grey tunnel has 3 openings: right, middle and left. One person
takes the tent halfway between the rightmost opening and the right-side anchor, while at the
same time the other person takes the same position on the left side. Together, both people
raise the tent forward, in the same direction.
Attention: If the tent poles come loose from the anchor pins, you will need to return the tent to
the ground and put them back on the pins, the way described at step 4. And remember, never
pull on the poles, just guide them along, other wise they may come apart.
Step 6: Securing the tent
Before you secure your tent, you need to "shake it up". To do this, shake the tent on both sides
firmly to the left and right, so that the foil is well distributed over the tent poles.
a. Now you are going to secure the tent, using the 6 twist pegs.
b. On both sides of the tent there are 3 openings in the lower (blue/grey) tunnel. A twist peg
should be placed at each of these (6) openings. Place the first twist peg at the middle opening
at the rear of the tent, on the outside of the tent, tight against the tent pole. To do this, push
the tent pole slightly away from you to allow a small gap to twist in the peg. Twist the peg into
the ground until there is space of approximately 1½ cm. left between the handle and the
ground, while this handle is positioned perpendicular to the tent pole.
Attention: Now check if you have placed this first twist peg on the right place. If so, the black
hinge blocks of the anchors (with hinges) should be perpendicular / at right angle to the
ground. If these blocks bend to the left or right, you must change the location of the first twist
peg in the opposite direction. Only then your tent will be secure and nicely upright later on (and
windproof).
