Figure 21: "Inverted Confi guration of the Two Position Switch (Right Side)" shows how the switch is
internally assembled to actuate climb mode when the rotary knob actuator is pressed downwards with a
left-mounted switch, or upwards when the switch is mounted on the right.
Note: In both switch confi gurations, the switch base fi xing bolt tightened on the metal clamp band assures a secure
switch installation on the handlebar (see "Switch Parts Identifi cation").

Note: The hole in the metal clamp band and the nib in the plastic clamp band are asymmetrically off set (see Figure 22:
"Clamp Band Asymmetry"). When you change your switch orientation and invert the clamp bands, make sure the clamp
bands are correctly aligned.

Use a 2 mm hex key with a torque wrench to tighten the switch stop fi xing bolt to ~7 in-lb (0.8 N-m) torque.
THREE POSITION MODE
It is possible to have three switch positions to achieve more advanced switch confi gurations if you want, for
example, to have a third switch position actuate climb mode with the fork only, or the shock only.
Note: The optional PC linkage device is required for interfacing with the Shimano E-Tube Project confi guration software
for changing your switch mode confi guration from two position into the three position setup. The PC Linkage Device also
permits you to run problem diagnostics, count switch operations, and access fi rmware updates. To purchase this tool,
contact your local authorized FOX dealer.
To change from two position to the three position mode, remove the switch stop and the switch stop fi xing
bolt. For information about how to reprogram the switch, see the FOX E-tube Operation Guide.
Note: Be sure to also change the switch mode indicator decal. Switch mode indicator decals are provided for the most
likely switch confi gurations.
