V9671
When cutting from within a workpiece (figure 15), drill a suitable
size hole first. Do not plunge cut.
Before sawing metal, spread a thin film of cooling agent such as oil,
along the proposed cutting line.
The sawing speed can be controlled through the transformer. As a
general guide use:
Slow speed for metals
Medium speed for hardwoods and plastics
Fast speed for softwoods
If cutting becomes difficult, this may be a sign that the blade is
becoming blunt. Change the blade being used as seen in figures
13 and 14.
Always use minimum pressure on the blades. Let the tool do the
work, otherwise breakage can occur.
Remember to always switch the tool off when the work is finished.
Maintenance
Occasionally apply a drop of oil on the reciprocating shaft (figure 11 f).
Always keep the air vents (e) free from obstruction.
This electric tool complies with the requirements in force relating to
radio and TV interference.

General information
Your variable speed transformer is equipped with a re-settable overload
cut-off facility. This overload facility protects your unit from current
loading and over heating. If the transformer is overloaded, the re-
settable fuse system will be activated and the neon indicator light (d)
will go out. Any 12V precision tools connected to the transformer
should be switched off. A short period of cooling time should be
allowed (approx. 3 minutes) before pushing the reset button (c). The
/min (12v)
neon indicator light will re-light, allowing work to continue.
Important General safety
1. Do not use or store transformer and 12V units in damp or wet
conditions.
2. Before changing 12V units, always switch off the transformer.
3. After use, always disconnect the power supply.
4. Always wear safety glasses when working with RS precision tools.
5. Do not undertake repairs on the transformer yourself.
6. Do not leave your tools and transformer unattended while switched
on.
This electric product complies with the requirements in force relating to
radio and TV interference.
