Fitting of drills
1. 25W drills. Place reducing ring 'A' inside reducing ring 'B'. Then fit
the drill inside the reducing rings at approximately the middle of the
drill body. Completely loosen knob 'C' on the drill holder and fit the
drill and rings into the holder. The reducing rings and drill should sit
together tightly in the drill holder. Tighten knob 'C' until the drill is
securely held.
2. 100W drills. Completely loosen knob 'C' on the drill holder and
push the drill into the holder. Secure the drill by tightening knob 'C'.
When fitting drills, please ensure that the cooling slots at the front end
of the drill are not covered by the drill holder.
Operating instructions
1. Always firmly secure the drill stand by screwing it down to a work
bench or similar surface.
2. When appropriate, the cable can be fitted through the cable holder
on the side of the stand in order to keep it safely away from the
workpiece during use.
3. Depress the handle in a slow, progressive manner, trying to avoid
erratic movements.
4. Height adjustment allows the drill and the workpiece to be closer
together, or further apart as required, and improves the accuracy of
work. By loosening both height adjustment knobs 'D', the height of
the drill holder can be altered. Loosen both knobs and move the
drill holder to the required height. Re-tighten both knobs once the
required height has been reached.
5. The base includes slats and tapped holes for fixing the RS stock
no. 182-720 machine vice to the stand and is ideal for holding most
pieces of precise work.
Safety warning

WARNING: When using electric tools, basic safety precautions should
always he followed to reduce risk of fire, electric shock,
and personal injury, Including the following:

injuries.
2. CONSIDER WORK AREA ENVIRONMENT. Don't expose power
adaptors or tools to rain. Don't use power tools in damp or wet
locations. Keep work area well lit.
3. GUARD AGAINST ELECTRIC SHOCK. Prevent body contact with
grounded surfaces.
For example: pipes, radiators, ranges,
refrigerator enclosures.
4. KEEP CHILDREN AWAY. All visitors should be kept away from
work area. Do not let visitors contact tool or extension cord.

operation is dusty.
10. DON'T ABUSE CORD. Never carry power adaptor or tool by cord
or yank it to disconnect from receptacle. Keep cord from heat, oil
and sharp edges.
11. SECURE WORK. Use clamps or a vice to hold work. It's safer than
using your hand and it frees both hands to operate tool. Hold tool

better safe performance. Follow instructions for lubricating and
changing accessories. Inspect extension cords periodically and
replace if damaged. Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil and
grease.
14. DISCONNECT TOOLS. When not in use, before servicing and
when changing accessories, such as blades, bits, cutters.

with finger on switch. Be sure switch is off when plugging in.
17. CAUTION. RS power adaptors are intended for indoor use only.
18. STAY ALERT. Watch what you are doing. Use common sense. Do
not operate tool when you are tired.
19. CHECK DAMAGED PARTS. Before use of the tool, a guard or
other part that is damaged should be carefully checked to
determine that it will operate properly and perform its intended
function. Check for alignment of moving parts, binding of moving
parts, breakage of parts, mounting, and any other conditions that
may affect its operation. Do not use the tool if a guard or other part
is defective. Do not use tool if switch does not turn it on and off.
20. DO NOT OPERATE portable electric tools near flammable liquids
or in gaseous or explosive atmosphere. Motors in these tools
normally spark, and the sparks may ignite fumes.
21. When using steel saws or cut off wheels for cutting or grinding:
a) Keep blades clean to minimise stalling and kickback.
b) Discard blunt or damaged blades do not attempt to sharpen.
c) Danger: Keep hands away from cutting area.
d) To avoid risk of kickback:- ensure tool is gripped firmly. Do not
