Fitting of drills
1. 25W drills. Place reducing ring 'A' inside reducing ring 'B'. Then fit
the drill inside the reducing rings at approximately the middle of the
drill body. Completely loosen knob 'C' on the drill holder and fit the
drill and rings into the holder. The reducing rings and drill should sit
together tightly in the drill holder. Tighten knob 'C' until the drill is
securely held.
2. 100W drills. Completely loosen knob 'C' on the drill holder and
push the drill into the holder. Secure the drill by tightening knob 'C'.
When fitting drills, please ensure that the cooling slots at the front end
of the drill are not covered by the drill holder.
Operating instructions
1. Always firmly secure the drill stand by screwing it down to a work
bench or similar surface.
2. When appropriate, the cable can be fitted through the cable holder
on the side of the stand in order to keep it safely away from the
workpiece during use.
3. Depress the handle in a slow, progressive manner, trying to avoid
erratic movements.
4. Height adjustment allows the drill and the workpiece to be closer
together, or further apart as required, and improves the accuracy of
work. By loosening both height adjustment knobs 'D', the height of
the drill holder can be altered. Loosen both knobs and move the
drill holder to the required height. Re-tighten both knobs once the
required height has been reached.
5. The base includes slats and tapped holes for fixing the RS stock
no. 182-720 machine vice to the stand and is ideal for holding most
pieces of precise work.
