9. Steps to upgrade the Software

9.1 By Fedtec Link (when the Main software of DZR is functioning)
1. Connect COM port (COM1 or COM2) of a PC and the DZR to be upgraded through RS232 cable.
2. Power on the DZR.
3. Run the FTLINK.EXE program in the PC and press "Setup Comm" button to select COM port (COM1 or
COM2). At this time, "Connecting......" message will be displayed on the screen and "Connection......."
message will be disappeared when the connection is completed.
4. If the "Connection......." message is not disappeared, the connection is not completed. Check if the COM port
is connected properly or not. Power OFF and power ON the DZR again and go through the above NO. 3 step
again.
5. Press the "Upgrade Software" button in the FTLINK.EXE program and open the ROM. BIN (New software)
file. Then, the DZR and PC will be connected again and the DZR will be automatically upgraded after the
"Connection complete......." message.
9.2 By Fedtec Link (when Boot Loader of DZR runs steadily and the Main Software is not functioning)
1. Connect COM port (COM1 or COM2) of a PC and the DZR to be upgraded through RS232 cable.
2. Turn OFF AC-Power of DZR.
3. Run the FTLINK.EXE program in the PC and press "Setup Comm" to select COM port (COM1 or COM2). At
this time, "Connection......." message will be displayed on the screen and "Connection error" message will be
displayed right away. Then discard this message and press OK button.
4. Press the "Upgrade Software" button on the FTLINK.EXE program and open the ROM. BIN (New software)
file. When "Connecting......." message will be displayed, then turn ON AC-Power of DZR. Then, the DZR and
PC will be connected and the DZR will be automatically upgraded after the "Connection complete......."
message.
5. If the "Connecting......." message is not disappeared, the connection is not completed. Check if the COM port
is connected properly or not. AC-Power OFF the DZR again and go through the above NO. 3 steps again.
6. When the upgrade is normally processing, "d.000" -> "......" -> "F000" -> "F100" -> "Good" will be displayed
step by step.
7. Upgrade is successfully completed when "Good" is displayed on the front panel.
9.3 DZR to DZR
1. DZR to DZR upgrading method will shorten the time for upgrade.
2. Connect both DZR by RS232 cable.
3. Boot the master DZR first by power ON.
4. Power on the slave DZR (to be upgraded).
5. When "d.000" is displayed on the front panel of the slave DZR, the connection is successful. From this time
on, software from master DZR is being transferred to slave DZR automatically. "Good" message will be
displayed on the front when the data transfer is successfully completed.
6. Suppose the "d.000" is not displayed on the slave DZR and only "boot" is displayed, please power ON and
OFF the slave DZR repeatedly until the "d.000" will be displayed on the slave DZR.
7. Please neglect some error messages like "Err. 8", etc. This is the process of readjusting the transfer speed.
Anyhow, when you have "Good" message on the front panel of the slave DZR finally, then the upgrade is
successfully completed.
8. DZR to DZR upgrading method enables you to upgrade many DZRs at one time. Please save the time with
this way.
9. Suppose you are doing the upgrade of 4 DZRs at one time, prepare all the necessary accessories.
The following things as to be followed during upgrading:
No need to power OFF the 4 master DZRs.
Replace 4 slave DZRs after upgrade.
