3 Safety cautions and potential hazards

3.1 Symbols used on this manual

Important information
• Information or tips to obtain good results or for an optimal operation of the
equipment.

tion of some of its components.

Hazard of electrical shock
Electric hazard for entering in areas marked with this signal, or for following the
manual instruction signalled by this icon.

Hazard of burns to be in contact with hot surfaces.
Temperature in this area can exceed 60ºC. Use heat protected gloves for the

3.2 General hazards

Using S-2000 needs some cautions:
• Operator Qualification
Only medical qualified personnel must use and take conclusions from the results
given by the S-2000
• Service Technician Qualification
Contact with youe dealer to get qualified service for this unit.
• Electrical Hazard
- Do not use the unit without the external covers.
- Unplug from mains to run any maintenance or service operation.
- Mains voltage on the main electronic boards.
• Lamp area
Lamp becomes extremely hot during operation. Never touch the lamp when it is
on!. Avoid to look directly into the light. It could cause eyes damage.
• Chemicals and reagent
Working with S-2000 needs chemical manipulation. Get Chemicals manufacturer
information for safety operation. Avoid direct body-contact with reagents or chemi-
cals.
