Table 1 - Maintenance Check Sheet
Inspection:
Visual inspection. Check system for signs of a fall event.
Check system tag is present and legible
Check all components for signs of damage, rusting or severe corrosion
Check all components are isolated from disimilar metals
Check integrity of structure
Check split pins present and in good condition
Check fasteners are correctly tightened. Use Torque Wrench as required
Clean system as necessary
Check cable condition for fretting, corrosion, signs of contamination and
damage
Check cable tension
Inspect brackets for damage, corrosion, or rust. Look for cracks, bends, or
wear that could affect strength or operation of the system.
Check inline energy absorbing elements are intact
Check intermediate brackets
Check clamps are not overtightened.
Check that the spring is functioning by lifting the cam arms and letting go, the
cam arms should spring back.
Check the rivet and rivet nuts for signs of damage
Check the gate of the karabiner opens, closes and locks
Check for cuts, abrasions and fraying
Check that there is no visible damage to the connection between the integral
energy absorber and Cabloc traveller and the integral energy absorber and
karabiner.
