WARNING: ALWAYS wear protective equipment including eye protection and
gloves when cleaning this tool.
• Keep your tool clean at all times. Dirt and dust will cause internal parts to
wear quickly, and shorten the device's service life
• Clean the body of your machine with a soft brush, or dry cloth
• Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts. If dry cleaning is not
sufficient, a mild detergent on a damp cloth is recommended
• Water must never come into contact with the tool
• Ensure the tool is thoroughly dry before using it
• If available, use clean, dry, compressed air to blow through the ventilation
holes (where applicable)
Replacing the grinding wheel
Note: The internal grinding wheel wears with use. Regularly check the size
and condition of the grinding wheel, and replace if necessary.
WARNING: ALWAYS ensure that the tool is switched off and disconnected
from the power supply, before fitting or removing grinding wheels.
1. Remove the two Cover Screws (2), using a suitable Phillips screwdriver
(not included)
2. Remove the drill bit guide and Adjustment Dial (3) assembly by pulling
it off the device
3. Remove the grinding wheel assembly by lifting it out of the housing.
Ensure the internal spring remains on the spindle underneath the
grinding wheel assembly
4. Unscrew the grinding wheel mounting cylinder from the base of the
grinding wheel by turning it clockwise
Note: The mounting cylinder has flat sides that allow the use of a suitable
spanner (not included), if required.
5. Remove the washer and grinding wheel base from the grinding wheel
6. Fit new grinding wheel on to the grinding wheel base, replace washer
and mounting cylinder
7. Place grinding wheel assembly back into the top of the unit, on top
of the drive spindle and spring. Ensure the flat inside surfaces of the
mounting cylinder engage the flat outside surfaces of the drive spindle
8. Place the drill bit guide assembly back on to the top of the unit
9. Insert and tighten the Cover Screws
Note: Connect to the power supply and conduct a test-run of the device,
with no load. Switch off immediately, if the device vibrates excessively or
produces strange noise, and check/correct the fitting of the grinding wheel.
