Advice
Should there sound a special warning tone after the introductory tune immedi-
ately, it reports one of the following cases:
- an obstacle at a distance up to 30 cm behind the vehicle:
- In this case, the function of the system is restarted only after the obstacle gets
to a distance of more than 30 cm.
- frost on sensors:
- clean sensors.
- other defect of the system:
In this case, it is possible to find the faulty sensor by means of self-diagnostics.
Actuate the equipment by switching on the ignition and shifting into reverse
gear. Disconnect parking sensors. The number of beeps serves to indicate the
faulty one:
1 beep
2 beeps
3 beeps
4 beeps
Permanent beeping
Eventual spare sensors can be ordered under ordering numbers:
BEA 609 001 001 – central sensor
BEA 609 001 002 – edge sensor
Warning
The capacity of the system to detect obstacles depends upon their mate-
rial and their shape! The acoustic signalling during backing does not
exempt the driver from responsibility for damages inflicted when parking
the vehicle and similar manoeuvres. Therefore, before backing make sure
that there is no obstacle of a smaller size behind your vehicle (e.g. a
stone, a thin pillar, draught pole of a trailer etc.). Such an obstacle could
be located out of the sensed area.
