Bumper Beam

1. Remove fascia screws – a.) Using a T10 torxbit socket remove (3) screws from bottom edge of fascia. b.) Using a T20 torxbit remove (2) screws from lower fascia near
rear wheels, (1) per side and keep for reinstallation.
2. Remove screws from wheel well base – Using a T20 torxbit remove (6) screws from wheel well liner of the rear wheels, (3) per side and keep for reinstallation.
3. Remove screws from inside of wheel well liner – Using an extension socket and a T25 torxbit remove (2) screws from the inside of wheel well liners, (1) per side and
keep for reinstallation.
4. Remove the taillights – From inside of the trunk, pull felt liners back to access taillight thumb bolts. Remove the thumb bolts of taillights by rotating with hand inside
interior panel in trunk. Disconnect the wire harness from taillights by opening the clip. Remove the taillights by gently pulling rearward.
5. Remove the rear fascia – a.) On outside of upper fascia, push down on fascia clips to release the upper fascia from vehicle plastic frame while gently pulling outward. b.)
& c.) While taking out the upper fascia carefully unplug (2) kick sensor cable plugs that are attached to inside of fascia. Then remove the upper fascia completely that
includes the lower fascia.
6. Remove bumper beam – Using 13 mm socket remove (8) M8 bolts from the bumper beam, (4) per side, return those to vehicle owner.
7. Install Hitch with Bumper beam – Install the Hitch with bumper beam including bumper beam cover using (8) M8 bolts and (8) conical washers supplied with hitch, (4)
per side.
8. Tighten all M8x1.25x40 CL10.9 fasteners with torque wrench to 27 ft -lb (36.61 N*m).
9. Trim lower fascia – a.) Remove the kick sensor from inside of fascia. B.) Using a tape measure, marker, and utility knife, measure, mark, and trim the lower fascia. See
Figure 2. Reinstall the kick sensor into position.
10. Reinstall the rear fascia – Carefully hold the rear fascia close to the vehicle. Re-attach (2) kick sensor plugs respectively that are removed in step 5. Align tabs in upper
fascia with vehicle plastic frame, and gently re-install fascia. Reinstall all fasteners, wiring harness, fascia, wheel well liners and taillights.
Note: check hitch frequently, making sure all fasteners and ball are properly tightened. If hitch is removed, plug all holes in trunk pan or other body panels to prevent entry of water and exhaust fumes. A hitch or ball which
has been damaged should be removed and replaced. Observe safety precautions when working beneath a vehicle and wear eye protection. Do not cut access or attachment holes with a torch. This product complies with safety
specifications and requirements for connecting devices and towing systems of the state of New York, V.E.S.C. Regulation V-5 and SAE J684.
