C H A R G I N G T H E B A T T E R Y
1. The battery can be charged while it is installed on the rack, or it may be removed from the bike.
Recommended charging temperature is 0-40° C (32-104° F).
2. Align the arrows on the battery charge port and the round cable connector of the charger, then plug
the charger into the battery.
3. Plug the power cord of the charger into a wall outlet.
4. Charge the battery. The battery does not require full charge or discharge between charge cycles.
5. Unplug the charger from the wall outlet fi rst, then remove the charger from the battery.

• Red indicates the charger has been plugged into a wall outlet.
• Yellow indicates the battery is charging.
• Flashing green indicates charging is 80% complete.
• Solid green indicates the battery is completely charged.

• No memory effect; the battery does not require full charge or full discharge between charging cycles.
• Capacity will slowly decrease with use at the rate of ~20% per 500 full discharge-charge cycles.

• Push the button on the top of the battery. The LED display will indicate
the charge level.
• The battery will beep three times when the power is turned on, followed
by three beeps from the hub, indicating they are operating properly.
• The battery will beep twice every fi ve minutes when the charge level is
below 5%.
• A continuous series of beeps from the hub indicates an error.

• Store in a cool, dry place when not in use.
• Inspect the charge status every three months and recharge to 50% when necessary. The battery can
become permanently damaged if left completely discharged.
