IMPORTANT NOTES
- Read and save the enclosed safety instructions.
- Read all instructions and cautionary markings on tool/charger/battery.
- In case of jamming, immediately switch off the tool.
- Before using accessories always compare the maximum allowed r.p.m. of that specific accessory with the r.p.m. of the tool.
- This tool should not be used by people under the age of 16 years.
- Be careful not to drill or drive into areas where electrical wires may be contacted.
CHARGER E.218A2
- - - - - Check voltage indicated on nameplate of charger.
- Do not use charger when damaged; take it to your FACOM dealer for a safety check.
- Do not use charger when cord or plug is damaged; cord or plug should be replaced immediatly by your FACOM dealer.
- Do not attempt to recharge non-rechargeable batteries with the charger E.218A2.

- Unplug charger from power source before cleaning.
BATTERY E.218A1
- Only charge the nickel-cadmium battery E.218A1 with the charger E.218A2; other types of batteries may burst, causing personal injury and
damage.
- Charge battery E.218A1 only with charger E.218A2.
- Do not charge battery E.218A1 in damp or wet locations.
- When battery E.218A1 is not in tool or charger, it should be kept away from metal objects such as nails, screws, keys etc... to prevent short-circuit.
- Do not use battery E.218A1 when damaged; it should be replaced immediatly.
- If red light does not blink after inserting battery E.218A1, this may mean:
1) That it is too cold or too hot for quick-charging (charger only quick charges batteries when its temperature is between 0°C and 45°C);the charger
then automatically switches to maintenance-charging, until a temperature between 0°C and 45°C is reached, at which time the charger will automatically
switch to quick-charging.
2) That the battery E.218A1 should be replaced.
- While charging, the charger and the battery may become warm to touch; this is normal and does not indicate a problem.
- If the battery is inserted in the charger, and not completely discharged, a quick-charge operation will take less than one hour.
- The battery can be removed at any time, but will only be fully charged when the red light stays on after blinking.
- If you anticipate long periods of non-use for the tool, it is best to unplug the charger from its power source.
- Do not "charge" at temperatures below 0°C, this will seriously damage the battery as well as the charger.
- Do not remove battery from tool while it is running.
- When you charge the battery for the first time, it only accepts 80% of its maximum capacity after several charges and discharges, however, the
batteries should be at full capacity and deliver maximum performance.
- Do not repeatedly recharge the battery after only a few minutes of operation; this may result in a reduction of operating time and battery efficiency.
- The battery can never be over-charged; it can be left in the charger for an extended period of time enabling you to have a fully charged battery
whenever you need it.
- Nickel-cadmium rechargeable batteries may cause environmental pollution, if not properly disposed; for this reason you are advised to hand in your
battery, when defective or worn out to a recognized hazardous materials disposal unit in your aera or to the nearest FACOM dealer.
- Prior to disposal protect battery terminals with heavy tape to prevent short-circuit.
HOW TO HANDLE
- Open the chuck by turning sleeve counter-clockwise.
- Insert accessory.
- Close the chuck by turning sleeve clock-wise.
- Firmly tighten sleeve to ensure accessory is firmly in place.
- Use the correct bit for the corresponding screw head.
- When screwdriving in hard wood one should pre-drill a hole.
- When turning in a screw at/near the cross cut end or a edge of wood one should pre-drill a hole in order to avoid cracking of the wood.
- For an optimal use of the tool a steady pressure on the screw is required, especially while removing.
- When turning in a screw, first try position 1 and increase until the desired depth has been reached.
- When drilling ferrous metals : pre-drill a smaller hole, when a large hole is required and lubricate drill bit occasionally
