their meaning. This manual contains safety precautions which are
explained below. Please read carefully.

Caution is used to indicate the presence of a hazard that will or can
cause minor or major personal injury if the caution is ignored.
NOTICE: Notice is used to note information that is important but not
hazard-related.
BEFORE YOU BEGIN
1. Download the specification sheet for your drop-in from
Vollrath.com. You will need to refer to this document for dimensions
and power requirements.
2. Verify the proper electrical outlet is available at the installation site.
NOTICE: This equipment requires a dedicated electrical circuit.
NOTICE: Do NOT modify the cord or plug on the drop-in. Modifying
any component may damage the drop-in or cause injury,
and will void the warranty. See the specification sheet on
Vollrath.com for electrical specifications.
3. Know the countertop manufacturer's requirements for preparing and
installing equipment into the countertop prior to starting installation.
CLEARANCE AND ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS
• Drop-in requires: 2
(5.1 cm) of clear space on the long and short

• Requires unrestricted intake and exhaust air ventilation for proper
operation of the controls. The maximum intake temperature must
not exceed 110°F (43.3°C). Temperatures are measured in ambi-
ent air while all appliances are in operation.
• Indoor use only. Room temperature and HVAC can effect perfor-
mance temperatures.

1. RECORD THE SERIAL NUMBER
Please record the drop-in serial number in the space provided in the
Operator's Manual. The serial number is located on the rating plate on
the drop-in. See below.
2. PREPARE THE COUNTERTOP AND CABINET
NOTICE: Refer to the drop-in specification sheet for cutout

3. Reinforce the countertop support as needed per the countertop
manufacturer guidelines and the weight of the equipment.
3. MOUNT THE DROP-IN
NOTICE: Do not block the air intakes. They are required for proper

2. Center the drop-in into the cutout opening.
3. Hand-tighten the thumbscrews of the mounting clips in an
alternating pattern to evenly compress the gasket. The gasket should
compress evenly between the well and mounting surface.
4. Apply silicone sealant around the perimeter of the drop-in.
