Maintenance
Battery
Remove the battery if the 500XP will not be used for a month
or more. Damage caused by leaking batteries is not covered by
the warranty.
Cleaning
Keep the 500XP clear of grease and dust. Use a cloth damp-
ened with isopropyl alcohol solution. Avoid aggressive solvents
and strong detergents. Dry before use.
Service
There are no user serviceable parts inside the unit.
The only user-replaceable parts are the battery seal, probe tips,
and the headset adaptor.
The small headset adaptor PCB behind the rear plate is
designed to be user-replaceable if the connector becomes
corroded.
A replacement parts kit is available: SP500XP. This kit contains
one metal and one plastic probe tip as well as one headset
adaptor PCB.
